As physicians and members of Doctors Council, serving under-resourced communities in safety-net hospitals and clinics throughout the H+H system, we call on H+H leadership to value healers over algorithms. We are deeply disappointed by recent remarks made by H+H CEO Dr. Mitch Katz at a recent panel discussion held by Crain’s New York Business, suggesting AI could replace highly trained, board-certified radiologists who bring critical clinical expertise and judgment. We support H+H’s mission and embrace advancements in technology that enhance patient care, so long as they strengthen, not replace, the professional expertise and patient-centered judgment of physicians. We will be seeking further clarification from Dr. Katz regarding his remarks.
