FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Doctors Council Announces Endorsements for New York Primaries 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 5th, 2026
(New York) Doctors Council SEIU, which represents doctors throughout New York City, including in the public hospitals system, NYC Health + Hospitals, mayoral agencies such as the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Department of Education, as well as in correctional facilities such as Rikers Island, has today announced its endorsements for the upcoming June 2026 primaries for New York.
Dr. Frances Quee, M.D., President of Doctors Council SEIU, issued the following statement regarding the choices of endorsements: "The physicians of Doctors Council care for New Yorkers in every corner of this city and we know that healthy communities depend on leaders who are willing to invest in public services and stand up for working people. That's why we are proud to endorse candidates who share our commitment to protecting public healthcare, supporting frontline workers, and ensuring that every patient can access high-quality care.
As physicians, we advocate for our patients every day. Through these endorsements, we support leaders who will advocate for them as well—leaders who understand that healthcare is a public good that must be protected and expanded, and that the people who provide it deserve a seat at the table. We are excited to support candidates who will help move our city forward and strengthen the systems that New Yorkers rely on every day."
